چکیده

We successfully treated a patient with occupational hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) caused by Grifola frondosa (Maitake) mushroom spore with an extra-fine aerosol corticosteroid; beclomethasone dipropionate (BDP) dissolved in hydrofluoroalkane-134a (HFA). A 49year-old woman developed respiratory symptoms 3 months after beginning work on a mushroom farm. She was diagnosed as HP based on radiological and serological findings. Oral prednisolone therapy improved her HP and she returned to the same farm. Her HP relapsed after 5 months, and daily 400 g of HFA-BDP was administered with gradual improvement. An extra-fine particle inhaled corticosteroid might reach appropriate alveoli to be effective therapy for mild HP. (Internal Medicine 43: 737–740, 2004)

Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis Caused by Cephalosporins With Identical R1 Side Chains

Drug-induced hypersensitivity pneumonitis results from interactions between pharmacologic agents and the human immune system. We describe a 54-year-old man with hypersensitivity pneumonitis caused by cephalosporins with identical R1 side chains. The patient, who complained of cough with sputum, was prescribed ceftriaxone and clarithromycin at a local clinic. The following day, he complained of ...

Pathology of hypersensitivity pneumonitis.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW Hypersensitity pneumonitis, caused by inhalation of various antigens, is characterized by interstitial mononuclear cell infiltration, nonnecrotizing granulomas, cellular bronchiolitis, and fibrosis. The pathological picture of chronic hypersensitivity pneumonitis is, however, complicated; it is sometimes difficult to differentiate chronic hypersensitivity pneumonitis from idio...

High prevalence of mollusc shell hypersensitivity pneumonitis in nacre factory workers.

Following the discovery of hypersensitivity pneumonitis caused by the inhalation of mollusc shell dust in two workers from a nacre-button factory, the health status of 26 workers employed in sawing mollusc shells was investigated. The evaluation included the administration of two questionnaires and radiological, functional and immunological assessments of all workers at the outset and 1 year la...
